Table tennis is hot; that is the message from Biba following her visit to Jersey City on Thursday 4th March 2010.
She visited the set of the Mercy television show for which Killerspin provided table tennis tables and rackets; furthermore, her skills were in demand. She coached the actresses and received very positive feed-back.
The response from Biba’s pupils; table tennis is hot!
Giorgio Armani /Red Carpet Retrospective
The Armani Show “Giorgio Armani Red Carpet Retrospective” was an exhibition of exclusive Armani dresses worn by celebrated actors and musicians at red carpet events; the
exhibition opened to the public on Friday 5th March and concludes on Sunday 21st March.
“With due respect to the famous designer and simply because of the wonderful designs, I wore a beautiful Armani dress accessorized with a fabulous Armani necklace”, explained Biba. “Soon I entered the room that quickly overflowed with exclusive New Yorkers of all ages.”
Excited and the epitome of fashion, Biba was served with cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres with the dresses on display proving enchanting.
Stunning Gowns
“There was the ensemble Lady Gaga wore to the 2010 Grammy Awards, the gown that Anne Hathaway wore to the 2009 Golden Globe Awards, the gown Alicia Keys wore to the
2009 Academy Awards plus, amongst others, the dress Penelope Cruz wore to the 2010 Golden Globe Awards”, enthused Biba. “The store is magnificent; it is a three floor concept store with an Armani Italian restaurant.”
Tough life but someone has to do it! Of course Biba took full advantage of the splendid restaurant.
Lasting Impression
“The Italian food was delicious and fortunately, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the building and the main manager of all Armani stores in United States. “Furthermore, he’s a big table tennis fan; hopefully we left a good impression!”
You can be one hundred percent certain that Biba left a positive a lasting impression.
The Arnold Sports Festival
The visit to the Armani Show over, it was collect a boarding pass and board a flight to Columbus, Ohio for the annual Arnold’s Sports Festival.
Named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, the event started as The Arnold Classic in 1989, a one day professional men’s bodybuilding competition; since then it has grown into the world’s largest multi-sport fitness weekend.
“There were around 150, 000 sport fans who came to watch some 18,000 athletes compete in around 40 sports, including archery, boxing, cheerleading and dance, dance sport, fencing, figure skating, gymnastics, martial arts, skateboarding, table tennis, weightlifting and wrestling”, explained Biba. “Killerspin organized the table tennis tournament which had around 150 competitors.”
Visit by Arnold Schwarzenegger
An excellent entry and an excellent competition was the order of the day.
“On Saturday 6th March, Arnold Schwarzenegger visited the tournament where he greeted the athletes and spectators; he spoke about how important is sport to one’s health and that it doesn’t matter what is the sport, as long as there is exercise involved”, explained Biba. “After concluding his speech he watched with great interest an exhibition mixed doubles table tennis match.”
Biba partnered Fita Lukas, a Killerspin sponsored player originally from Poland; they played against players from Brazil that are on a table tennis scholarship at the Lindenwood University in St. Louis.
A group picture followed with Arnold Schwarzenegger congratulating everyone.
The result of the mixed doubles match; victory for Biba and Fita Lukas; once again Killerspin the winner!
