Killerspin’s Revolution SVR Table Tennis Table was the center of attention at the Euro RSCG Finals in Chicago on Tuesday 16th March 2010; a tournament at which Biba was the guest of honor, a role as always, she completed with dignity and charm.
Earlier in the year, accompanied by Robert Blackwell and Ilija Lupulesku, Biba visited Euro RSCG for the opening of their fourth annual table tennis tournament; therefore, the culmination, the Finals, were very much the pinnacle of proceedings and the company’s premier event of the year.
Biba was charged with setting matters in motion by throwing the first ball into play, before exercising her language skills as the expert pundit alongside the host commentator.
Exciting table tennis and there was one other ingredient: Guinness!
A drop of the black stuff was on hand, it was St Patrick’s Day and of course many American residents are of Irish descent.
The atmosphere was quite simply one of enjoyment and that’s the basic reason why we play sport. The more Guinness, the more enjoyment is the slogan of the Emerald Isle?
A front row seat was of the highest priority with, in addition to the odd glass of lemonade or similar, food and music combining to produce laughter and merriment as one of the employees stood tall to sing the National Anthem.
Furthermore, a video, which was met with great hilarity, was broadcast on a big white screen as players were introduced to the ardent crowd.
Full support came from those assembled and even though not of the players might match the skills of Chen Qi or Ilija Lupulesku, they performed magnificently, exciting rallies and no quarter was given, nor asked.
All were grateful to Killerspin for their support and for Biba kindly attending.
Matters concluded with presentations and Biba playing against some of the players; doubles proved great fun, the Guinness was having a positive effect!
A great event; a world record for enjoyment?
How about applying for inclusion in the Guinness Book of Records!
