Killerspin’s 25 year old Georgina Pota, successfully negotiated the group stage of proceedings in the Women’s Singles event at the German Open in Berlin on Thursday 18th March 2010 to book her place in the main draw.

After a somewhat tentative start against the Czech Republic’s Ivana Weberova, the Hungarian found a rhythm that saw her emerge victorious in style in the fourth ITTF Pro Tour tournament of the year.

Staying close to the table, giving her adversaries minimal time to respond, she beat two seasoned opponents in the guise of the Czech Republic’s Ivana Weberova and Turkey’s Fulya Ozler.

Gina defeated Ivana Weberova 11-8, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-4 before totally dominating matters against Fulya Ozler.

She overcame Ozler in impressive style winning in four straight games; she prevailed 11-6, 11-9, 11-5, 11-7.
